Kangpokpi, February 22: Chief Justice of Manipur High Court Siddharth Mridul has visited violence-affected people at three relief camps in Kangpokpi district. The three relief camps are namely i) Lhangnomphai Relief Camp ii) Damdei Relief Camp and iii) Motbung Bethlehem Veng Relief Camp. Internally displaced people at the relief camps have expressed their concerns to the Chief Justice mainly on lack of source of income and availability of medicines and difficulties facing the students at the relief camps in going to school due to distance and geographical barriers. All Tribal Lawyers Association, Manipur has also submitted a memorandum to the visiting Chief Justice for improvement of infrastructures of the District Judiciary.

As part of the ongoing voluntary initiative under Manipur State Legal Services Authority, MSLSA, a delegation led by Chief Justice Siddharth Mridul, along with Justice Golmei Gaiphulshillu Kabui distributed relief materials and held interaction programmes at the three Relief Camps in Kangpokpi District on Thursday. RS Reisang Sr. Advocate and other Advocates of the High Court of Manipur; Letkho Kipgen, District & Sessions Judge, Senapati; Alek Muivah, Member Secretary, MSLSA, Kimneingah Kipgen, Secretary, Senapati District Legal Services Authority, Subham Vashist, Joint Registrar (Judl.),High Court of Manipur and other Registry officials were part of the team.

They distributed relief materials such as Syntex (Water Container), Carpet, Winter Shawl, Portable solar lamp, Thermo-flask, Immersion rod, Hot water bag, Lactogen, Mothers’ Horlicks, buckets, mugs, plate and sport items to the people at the three relief camps with an aim to alleviate some of the challenges faced by them.

Kangpokpi SP Manoj Prabhakar, Kangpokpi ADC S. Baite, Champhai SDO Len Singsit, WAICHONG SDO Lamminlal Simte, Saitu SDO Paotinsei Kipgen, President and members of All Tribal Lawyers Association, Manipur (ATLAM) also accompanied the Chief Justice in the visit to the relief camps.
