Ukhrul: The Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S) provided assistance to Hormi Lunghar, father of Late Chishin Lunghar (a year and seven months old) of Tashar village on Friday.
Baby Chishin Lunghar lost his life on August 12, when the neighbouring wall collapsed over their house at Hamleikhong, Ukhrul.
On August 12, 2024, due to heavy rainfall and inhospitable weather, part of the neighbouring wall collapsed on a house at Hamleikhong, Ukhrul, which resulted in injuring three people from the same family. “The bereaved father Hormi Lunghar had contacted and requested Assam Rifles for assistance in construction of their dilapidated house and the following construction items were provided to the family on humanitarian grounds,” stated 35 Assam Rifles, Somsai.

The Assam Rifles has provided 20 pieces of CGI Sheets, 5 tube lights, 10 LED Bulbs, 2 Mattresses, 1 Solar Light, 20 Wood logs, 3 switch boards, 1 bundle of electrical wire and a cash amount of Rs. 10,000.
Hormi Lunghar said he was extremely obliged and thankful to 35 Asssam Rifles for the needful assistance.
It is also learned that an exgratia of Rs. 4 lakhs provided by the District Administration has been received by the bereaved family.
