Ukhrul: Liangnah School, Tamei, marked its Cultural Day on October 28, 2024, with a celebration of Liangmai traditions and heritage. The event was graced by Mr. Ch. Dithinbou, former President of the Liangmai Naga Council (LNC), who attended as the chief guest, taking on the role of Chakhuang Giang for the occasion.
In his opening address, the school principal, Mr. Enoch Newmei, extended a warm welcome to parents, dignitaries, staff, and students. He highlighted the school’s commitment to preserving and reviving the rich cultural traditions of the Liangmai community, stating, “Our mission is to revive and pass down the cherished customs and traditions of our ancestors to future generations.”

The Cultural Day featured a variety of highlights celebrating Liangmai heritage:
Paope Thiak Lenbo: A display of Liangmai culture, showcasing traditional customs and rituals.
Tacheng Tajai: A talk dedicated to exploring the unique culture and traditions of the Liangmai.
Folk Dances and Singing: Students performed traditional folk dances and songs, bringing to life the vibrant rhythms and melodies of Liangmai heritage.
Magubo or Ho-ing: Another key cultural element of the Liangmai people, prominently featured during the celebration.

The event aimed to immerse students in the sounds, stories, and traditions of Liangmai culture, fostering a sense of pride and continuity.
