Ukhrul, August 5: Rinchui Raman, a native of Phalee village in Ukhrul district, Manipur, has been appointed as a Research Associate at the Center for Clean Energy and Sustainability Analytics at Montclair State University, New Jersey.
Rinchui Raman recently completed her Master of Environmental Management (MEM) degree, specializing in Energy and Environment, from Yale University, one of the Ivy League institutions in the United States. She is the second Tangkhul Naga to graduate from Yale, following Chomri of Teinem village, who earned her master’s degree in Forestry.

Rinchui Raman’s academic journey began at Alice Christian Higher Secondary School in Ukhrul, followed by Herbert School in Imphal, where she completed her higher secondary education.
Beyond her academic achievements, Rinchui Raman has played a pioneering role in environmental advocacy in her home state.
In 2019, she co-founded the Phalee Bio-Diversity Project (PBP), an initiative aimed at preserving local ecosystems and promoting sustainable practices in Phalee. She continues to serve as an advisor to the project.
