Tamenglong, October 8: The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Manipur (LNKR) successfully concluded its 2nd Mega Literary Meet at Tamei Headquarters, with over 800 students and participants from nine schools across the region taking part in the two-day event held from October 6 to 7 under the theme “Building Confidence.”
The literary meet aimed to foster academic excellence, communication skills, and creative expression among students through competitions such as quiz, debate, extempore speech, and poetry recitation.
In the quiz competition, Wijailiu Daimai and Kasiliangliu Abonmai of Langmei Higher Secondary School, Tamei, emerged winners, while Benwangbou Daimai and Buinningliu Moita of Hamai Tasiiky, Tamei, finished as runners-up. The debate competition was won by Widaidailiu Ringkangmai of Paragon English School, Makui, followed by Sangjonliu Njiangtah of Liangnah School, Tamei, as runner-up.

In the extempore speech category, Pouchengwiliu of Hamai Tasiiky, Tamei, claimed first place, while Widaorailiu from the same school secured second. The poetry recitation competition saw Wijiliu Abonmai and Jukhailiu Rimai, both from Liangnah School, Tamei, winning first and second positions respectively.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Chief Guest Kachamthai Faiga Gangmei, Chief Executive Officer, ADC Tamenglong, and Guest of Honour W. Dikambou, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tamenglong. The programme was hosted by Renee Newmai, SDO, Tamei, with special guests Dy. Commandant Rajesh Konwar (COB Tamei), K. Angambou (Assistant Commandant, CRPF), and Zn. Siron (Assistant Professor, MTC).

LNKR President Mathiuchunbou Rimai, in his address, lauded the active participation and marked improvement in students’ performances compared to the previous edition. He stressed the need for more such platforms to nurture talent, confidence, and leadership among the younger generation.
The event also drew the support of community leaders, civil society groups, church representatives, and parents, who contributed to the success of the programme. LNKR extended gratitude to all participants, schools, sponsors, and well-wishers for their collective efforts in making the literary meet a grand success.
