A review meeting chaired by Sumant Singh, Commissioner-cum-Secretary to the Governor of Manipur, was held on October 6 at the NHM Conference Hall to discuss the situation. The meeting reviewed this year’s data and compared it with last year’s figures.

Sumant Singh said that cleaning up mosquito breeding sites remains the best way to stop dengue from spreading. He urged families and local communities to take part in source reduction activities in their neighbourhoods.

Following the review, Health Services officials met representatives of Imphal’s local clubs and appealed for their active involvement. Volunteers will be trained by State Urban Health Teams to identify and destroy mosquito breeding areas.
