All Zeliangrong Students’ Union Inducts New Executive, Stresses Zeliangrong Unity and Peace

UKHRUL: The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union (AZSU) inducted its new Executive Council for the 2026–2029 tenure during the 1st Dimki Session held at Hangrum village in Assam on July 24.

The session, attended by delegates, senior leaders, members and invited guests, marked the formal handover of responsibilities to the newly elected leadership. Haiheube Kuame was inducted as President, while Liangkiudinbo Marenmai took charge as secretary general.

The newly elected executives pledged to uphold the Union’s Constitution and work for the welfare and interests of Zeliangrong students.

During the session, members discussed issues concerning the Zeliangrong community, with particular emphasis on strengthening unity among Zeliangrong organisations and people. The House resolved to promote greater cooperation and collective efforts for the community’s long-term interests.

The House also discussed the humanitarian impact of the ongoing Manipur conflict, expressing solidarity with families affected by the violence. Members resolved to continue advocating for peace, justice, security and the protection of the rights of those affected.

In his address, president Haiheube Kuame thanked members for placing their trust in the new leadership and urged everyone to work with commitment and discipline to strengthen the organisation.

Secretary general Liangkiudinbo Marenmai said the Executive Council would function with transparency and accountability while working to address issues affecting Zeliangrong students across the region.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks to delegates, organisers and participants.

The newly elected Executive Council for the 2026–2029 tenure comprises Haiheube Kuame (president), Phensongwi (vice president), Liangkiudinbo Marenmai (secretary general), Jonah Thaimei (assistant general secretary), Izaile Zeme (Finance secretary), Kiselunle Z (Women secretary), Prince Zeme (Games and Sports secretary), Haichidui Khate (Publicity and Information secretary), Akangbe (Treasurer) and Joy Kamei (Auditor).
