Alleged drone attack injures two, including minor, in Myanmar’s Langkho

UKHRUL: A drone attack, as per NK TV Plus, reportedly targeted the residence of NSCN-K (YA) commander Akham Konyak in Langkho village in Myanmar’s Sagaing Region early Friday.

The target reportedly injured two, including a nine-year-old Grade 5 female student. No deaths have been reported.

According to Naga News, the attack took place at around 1 am Myanmar Standard Time on October 3. Local sources, Naga News cited alleged that the Indian Army carried out the attack using two drones and four bombs. Two of the bombs reportedly failed to explode after landing in the ground above the house.

The reported incident took place in the Naga Self-Administered Zone of Sagaing Region, Myanmar.

It may be noted that the reported drone attack comes days after the NSCN-K (Yung Aung) faction and the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) claimed responsibility for a joint attack on a patrol of the 21 Assam Rifles near Nampong in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district on September 29, close to the Indo-Myanmar border area. The attack, which took place near the India-Myanmar border, left one Assam Rifles personnel dead and four others injured, according to officials. The two groups claimed they carried out the operation jointly and said an AK-series rifle was recovered from the site.
