Amateur Boxers Exhortation Program Inspires Manipur Sub-Junior Athletes; Dr. Alyson Abonmai donates to support team

Imphal: An Amateur Boxers Exhortation Program for Manipur Sub-Junior Boys and Girls, gearing up for the National Championship, unfolded at the Catholic Retreat Center in Mantripukhri, igniting the spirit of young athletes and instilling in them the values of sportsmanship and camaraderie.

A press release issued on Sunday by Media Cell of Dr. Alyson Abonmai said the event was organized by the Chingtam Women’s Development Association. The event served as a rallying call for aspiring boxers to strive for excellence and represent Manipur with pride on the national stage.

Led by Dr. Alyson Abonmai, the renowned Best Social Reformer awardee and intending candidate for the 18th Lok Sabha Election for Outer Manipur, the exhortation program garnered overwhelming support from the community. In his impassioned address, Dr. Alyson urged the young athletes to embrace hard work, determination, and respect for their coaches and parents. He emphasized the importance of dreaming big, overcoming obstacles, and bringing laurels for both the state and the country, the press release said.

Dr. Alyson also encouraged the participants to serve as ambassadors of peace and love, fostering unity and harmony through the medium of sports. In a demonstration of his commitment to sports development in Manipur, he generously donated 50,000 rupees to support the Manipur Sub-Junior team’s expenses for the upcoming National Championship in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The team, comprising 13 boys, 9 girls, and 4 team officials, embodies the state’s spirit of determination and excellence.

The event witnessed an impressive turnout of over 600 individuals from diverse backgrounds, including representatives from the Democratic People’s Alliance (DPA), Chingtam Women’s Development Association, MCOP, Meira Paibis, leaders from all Outer constituencies, 12 media houses, civil society organizations, prominent sportsmen, actors, singers, and members of the Muslim community. Their collective endorsement of Dr. Alyson Abonmai’s candidacy for the MP Election underscored his widespread support and dedication to serving the people of Manipur.

The overwhelming support extended to the young boxers from Manipur competing at the National Championship and the North East Olympic was heartening, symbolizing the community’s unity and solidarity in promoting sports excellence and fostering peace.
