Amazing NamastE Releases its E-book ‘Century of Tales from North East’

The Government of India's (GoI) decision to reorient 'Look East' policy to make it 'Act East' policy is an indication of action driven agenda.

Through virtual platform, Amazing NamastE celebrated its 100 episodes of ‘Facebook Live’ on its page and released E-book ‘Century of Tales from North East’.

From the 100 and regular audience of Amazing NamastE page, 4 speakers namely Ameet Nandlaskar, Swati Joshi, Dr. Sushmita Sharma and Mona Hazarika shared their innovative, encouraging and beautiful experiences.

Appreciation certificates were handover virtually by Hon’ble Minister Shri. Pralad Singh Patel to 10 speakers- Shreya Pujari (San Franscisco, California, US), Raju Mog (Agartala, Tripura), Khaying Luiyai (Ukhrul, Manipur), Dr. Prashanna Gogoi (Guwahati Assam), Ukeela Kheyonthepa ( Yansum, Sikkim), Mark Lalduhska (Aizawl, Mizoram), Onen Nenty (Kohima, Nagaland), Starley Chullai (Jowai, Meghalaya) and Khumi Burton (Chesher, UK) and Hon’ble Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh declared the released of E-book entitled ‘Century of Tales from North East’ to mark the momentous journey.

Since Northeast (NE) is located at the cross roads between 3 major economies- East Asia, South Asia & Southeast Asia, huge opportunities are knocking at their doors. The ongoing efforts in the region are required to be multi- dimensional and diverse in nature with a long term goal.

With the renewed focus on the region by GoI under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the region’s future is believe to be bright and engaging ushering a new chapter in the long history of significant contributions by the NE for country’s growth path. The need of the hour therefore is to understand the sensitivities and play positive contributions by every stakeholder.

Speaking at the function the Guest of Honor Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Hon’ble Union Minster of State (I/c) for Culture & Tourism, GoI mentioned, ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ initiative of the Tourism Ministry following the vision of Hon’ble PM to focus on Domestic Tourism Sector to generate opportunities in the Northeast Region. He further said, “If there is any region in the world with such diversity of tourism products, it is Northeast and in the post Covid scenario, it has huge potential.”

While complimenting Amazing NamastE for this innovative and engaging social media effort, the Chief Guest Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (I/c) for MDoNER said, “The focus is on improving physical connectivity to ensure that the minds also meet.” He talked about various infrastructure initiatives and mentioned about Imphal Airport being developed as International Airport.

Explaining the very idea of Amazing NamastE, Chief Convenor Shri Atul Kulkarni narrated the journey so far and said, “The team is pleased to see the response it is getting from across the world and hopes to work with various Social and GoGovernmental bodies in the region for more participative development process.”

Amazing NamastE is about NE, encouraging the world to understand and appreciate the rich culture, land, people, flora & fauna.

Every week, a new guest goes live to talk about NE culture, nature, people, society and more. The idea is to spread awarness and orientation of fellow countrymen about the region.

Many NE brothers and sisters including some well known personalities like Bollywood Musicians, Folk & Instrumental Artists, Doctors, Legendary Sportsperson, World famous bands, Young Entrperneurs, Researchers, Historians from across the globe interected through this platform and share their thoughts.
