UKHRUL: The All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) and Editors’ Guild Manipur (EGM) have condoled the demise of senior journalist Maibam Ibochouba, who passed away on Sunday after prolonged illness.

“Late Maibam Ibochouba had been suffering from a prolonged medical condition. He had previously been diagnosed with serious eye-related complications and high blood pressure, which later resulted in a stroke. Following a tragic fall from a building, he underwent major surgery at Raj Medicity. Despite medical care and support, his health condition continued to deteriorate, leaving him bedridden until his demise,” the AMWJU and EGM stated in a condolence message.

A condolence meeting was held at the Manipur Press Club on Monday, where members of AMWJU and EGM observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul, it stated.
