Ukhrul, May 30: The All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) and Editors’ Guild Manipur (EGM) in light of the flood situation across Manipur, have jointly decided to relax their ongoing boycott on government-related news to facilitate emergency coverage vital to public safety.
This decision emerged from an emergency joint meeting held on May 30 at 8 PM at the Manipur Press Club, where the Standing Committee of AMWJU and EGM deliberated on the urgent need to inform the public about emergency services and government responses to natural calamities, particularly the approaching flood crisis.

The press statement, jointly signed by AMWJU President Asem Bhakta Singh and EGM President Khogendra Khomdram, noted that the temporary relaxation of the boycott is in the public interest. It will allow media outlets to cover essential government communications related to emergency relief, rescue operations, and safety advisories.
