Applications Invited For First-ever Tribal Frames Manipur

Ukhrul, October 8: Applications from filmmakers, animators, and storytellers are invited for the first-ever Tribal Frames Manipur (TFM), 2025 — a unique platform dedicated to showcasing voices, stories, and visions from tribal communities.

According to a notification issued by the Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Manipur, National Tribal Film Festival will be organised during November 8-11 as a part of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh. TRI Manipur, TA & Hills Department in collaboration with Manipur State Film Development Society will be organizing the event with the support of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, it stated.

The last date of submission of application for the Tribal Frames Manipur is October 20. Selected participants will be notified by October 25 and all travel and hospitality expenses will be provided for the selected filmmakers. The application is open to all filmmakers, animators, and storytellers working on tribal themes. Films can be in any tribal language, but English subtitles are mandatory. 

Films released after January 1, 2020 are eligible. Both shorts and feature-length films are welcome; and documentaries, fiction, and animation are accepted.

Entries must be sent via email to trimanipur@gmail.com with a subject line “Tribal Frames Manipur”.

Films must be submitted as a screening link (Google Drive/Vimeo/YouTube private link) or digital file (MP4/MOV), along with the title, synopsis, and filmmaker’s Bio; year of production; film duration; language of the film and contact details (email/phone). 

Tribal Frames Manipur is a non-competitive festival with the aim to bring tribal filmmakers together, provide visibility, and create a space for dialogue, learning, and cultural exchange.
