Arms and 1.8kg of Suspected Poppy Seeds Seized in Churachandpur, Two Arrested

UKHRUL: Security forces apprehended two individuals from T Bangla MVCP in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on Friday for allegedly possessing firearms, suspected narcotics, and other incriminating materials.

The arrested persons have been identified as Letjakai Haokip (32), a resident of Sarang Tampak, and Lunkhohao Haokip (40) of V. Tuisomjang village in Churachandpur.

According to official sources, the duo was found in possession of one modified carbine and a 9 mm pistol. In addition, security personnel recovered 36 sacks suspected to contain poppy seeds, with a total weight of approximately 1,800 kilograms.

Two vehicles bearing registration numbers NL01 AF-6831 and MZ01 AC-9716, along with two mobile handsets, were also seized during the operation.
