Arms Cache Recovered in Joint Operation in Churachandpur

Churachandpur, October 1: A joint column of 2 JAK LI, Churachandpur Police, and CRPF (F/129 & A/129) recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during an operation launched today at around 1:00 PM in the general area between Mavom and Nepali Basti, Churachandpur.

According to official sources, the recovery was made from a thickly forested area where the items had been concealed. The seized cache includes: 01 M-16 automatic (local made Chinese style) with mag (Regd No: 326107), 02 single barrel rifles (Regd No: 162746), 02 9mm pistols (local made Chinese style) with mag (Regd No: 623107, 15642171), 01 improvised mortar (Pompi), 02 HE No.36 hand grenades (local made), 01 smoke grenade, 19 INSAS empty cases, 05 12-bore rounds (03 empty, 02 live), 09 AK-47 empty cases, 09 7.62mm empty cases, 01 Baofeng wireless set, 01 battery wireless set, 01 BP helmet, and 01 BP jacket cover.

The recovered items have been handed over to Churachandpur Police Station (OC/CCP-PS) for further documentation and investigation. The case has been registered under GD entry no. 18/CCP-PS/2025 dated October 1, 2025.
