Assam Rifles apprehend militant cadres

In a joint operation, troops of Assam Rifles of Keithelmanbi Battalion and Manipur Police apprehended a cadre of UNLF from East Garden Kongba Laishram Leikai of Imphal East district on 08 March. The person identified as Athokpam Bijendro Singh (39) @ Boy, is a resident of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Makha Leirak of ImphalbEast district.

The apprehended insurgent confessed to be a member of the outfit since 2018 and his involvement in carrying out extortion activities in Imphal City for raising the fund for the banned outfit.

The apprehended insurgent was handed over to Irilbung Police Station for further investigation and legal action.

In another joint operation, Mantripukhri Battalion Assam Rifles and Manipur Police apprehended a cadre of PREPAK from Thiyam area of Imphal East district on 08 March. The person is identified as Thokcham Monica Devi (29) @ Nena of Keirao Wangkhen of Imphal East district.

The apprehended individual confessed of being an active member of PREPAK. The apprehended insurgent was handed over to Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
