In order to ensure adherence of Suspension of Operation (SoO) ground rules by signatory underground insurgent cadres, Churachandpur Battalion Assam Rifles carried out inspections of SoO camps jointly with police in Sangaikot, Churachandpur and Henglep sub divisions of remote Churachandpur border district on 27 February 2021.

In addition to checking attendance of the SoO signatory insurgent cadres inside the designated camps, they were also educated on COVID-19 precautions and vaccination drives. Various details of the cadres were collected for preparation of ADHAAR based identification cards.

The infrastructure requirements of the SoO camps were also noted for appropriate repairs/ renovations by MPHC/DRDA.

The recent violations of SoO ground rules by few SoO groups were discussed and the cadres were advised to strictly follow the SoO guidelines and not indulge in any illegal or prohibited activities.

Earlier during this week, DGP Manipur Mr LM Khaute had issued an order to district police superintendents to ensure that the SoO cadres don’t indulge in any unlawful activities prohibited under the SoO agreements and initiate legal actions against all violators including civil society members.

Personnel of the Assam Rifles are at the forefront in implementing government policies in remote border district of Churachandpur in Manipur and complement voids in law and order arrangements in inaccessible areas. The Assam Rifles have been working tirelessly even during peak of the COVID pandemic without any concern to their personal safety in order to maintain peace & tranquility in the border district.
