Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) Flagged Off National Integration Tour to Kolkata from Somsai on Sunday, 17 Dec 23.

The Flag Off was done by Commander 10 Sector Assam Rifles. The tour comprises of a total of 34 participants which includes 25 students from Kamjong, Tengnoupal and Imphal belonging to the Naga, Kuki and Meitei communities.

The Flag Off ceremony was marked by address of the Assam Rifles Sector Commander and speeches by the students who shared their excitement and expectations from this tour. This integrated tour of diverse communities will visit places of historical and national significance in Kolkata. They will also get a unique opportunity to interact with the Hon’ble Governor as well as the Army Commander, Eastern Command.

The initiative undertaken as part of OP SADHBHAVANA has witnessed students from remote areas and different communities participating with zeal and enthusiasm. The 13 day event aims to provide a platform to the youth to nurture national integration, social harmony and build inquisitive nature while providing kids exposure to the rich culture, history and armed forces of our nation. The participants embarked on this tour from Somsai via road to Dimapur from where they will move to Kolkata by Train.
