Assam Rifles’ Humanitarian Aid Appreciated by Destitute Children Home

Ukhrul, August 4: Destitute Children Home in Ukhrul District expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Shangshak Battalion of Assam Rifles for their timely support following the devastating Cyclone Remal in May 2024.

The cyclone caused significant damage to the institute, home to 50 orphans. On June 3, 2024, Assam Rifles personnel, along with students from Assam Rifles Public School at Shangshak, provided relief materials, including food, sanitary items, and clothing, said Destitute Children Home.

The home praised this act of kindness, hoping the battalion continues such humanitarian efforts in the future.

In connection with humane activities being undertaken by the Assam Rifles, the Shangshak Battalion of Assam Rifles said it had organised a week long donation camp at battalion location for the inmates of Ningrin Club Destitute home at Alungtang village in Ukhrul district of Manipur, said AR.

“The unit personnels had carried out a week long donation drive and the materials collected from the donation drive was handed over to the authorities of the Destitute home for children at Alungtang, Ukhrul who were reeling under the aftermath of Remal cyclone. The children and the authorities of the Ningrin Club Destitute home for children at Alungtang village in Ukhrul district of Manipur expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation,” added AR.
