Assam Rifles in Tripura Hosts Closing Ceremony for ‘Sentinel Care’ Project in Collaboration with NIEDO

Agartala: In an effort to foster community bonding and bid farewell to the first batch of students from North Eastern States enrolled in the “Sentinel Care” program, Assam Rifles in Tripura organized a closing ceremony on May 7. Collaborating with the National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO), the program aimed to provide NEET coaching classes to economically disadvantaged students.

Commencing on December 31, 2023, the NEET coaching classes were initiated under the memorandum of understanding signed between Assam Rifles and NIEDO on September 27, 2023, in the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister of Tripura, Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha.

A total of 22 bright students from economically weaker sections and diverse communities across the North Eastern States, including 18 from the strife-torn state of Manipur, were selected to undergo coaching for NEET exams. The competitive exam (NEET) was conducted on May 5, 2024.

The closing ceremony, themed “Peace & Harmony,” showcased traditional songs and dances by students representing various tribes of Manipur. The event aimed to promote unity among communities and encourage collaboration for a brighter future. Attended by a large audience, including mass communication students from Tripura University, the cultural extravaganza concluded with a dinner for all attendees.
