UKHRUL: One Assam Rifles jawan was killed and four others injured after a patrol team of the 21 Assam Rifles came under fire near Nampong Nallah along the India-Myanmar border in Changlang district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased jawan has been identified as havildar Jankhokai Kuki, 42.
The incident reportedly occurred around 6:30 am, with firing also reported near the border fencing, approximately 10 km from the Pangsau Border Haat.
Reports suggest that cadres suspected to belong to the NSCN-K-YA faction may have been involved in the attack. However, the involvement of the insurgent group has not been officially confirmed.

Following the attack, security forces launched operations in the area to track down the assailants.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with further details awaited.
