Assam Rifles Rubbishes NSCN Allegations

Ukhrul: The Public Relations Officer, Headquarters Inspector General (South), has rubbished the allegations of the NSCN, Government of the People’s Republic of Nagaland (GPRN) that the “Indian Forces is using Myanmar militants for proxy war in Manipur.”

The IGAR (South) rebuttal Friday, pointed out the NSCN’s 23rd May 2024 allegations which mentioned that “Assam Rifles (AR) and the para-regiment are colluding with Kuki militant groups against NSCN and that AR, Territorial Army, and para-regiment facilitated free entry and exit of Kuki militants. It further states that Indian security forces are raining bombs in Myanmar using drones.”

The Assam Rifles “noted that these allegations were already mentioned in the press release of GPRN dated 15 May 2024. Assam Rifles has already rebutted the allegations and the same was published on 20 May 23 in Ukhrul Times and by other media houses.”

“It is reiterated that these allegations which have been repeated are baseless and unfounded. Media houses are requested to verify the content before publishing the same. Accurate reporting by media is crucial to avoid sensationalism that could exacerbate an already fragile situation,” stated Assam Rifles.
