The All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) on Thursday called for a total shutdown in the entire hill districts of Manipur State on December 18, Saturday, beginning from 5 am to 5 pm in demand for the introduction of Hill Areas Committee (HAC) recommended ADC Bill 2021 in the Manipur Legislative Assembly and in support of the collective tribal movement, spearheaded by ATSUM, Kuki Student’s Organization-GHQ and All Naga Student’s Association, Manipur (ANSAM).

The release of ATSUM said that the Manipur tribals in Delhi under the aegis of Manipur Tribal Forum Delhi (MTFD) will also be organising a mass protest rally on December 18 at New Delhi simultaneously while reiterating its demand for tabling of the HAC recommended ADC Bill 2021.

ATSUM further appealed “to all and sundry to support the ADC bill movement till the demand is fulfilled”.

At the same time it also added, “Should there be any inconveniences caused due to the total shutdown called for assertion of constitutional rights, is deeply regretted”.
