ATSUM: ‘Release our leaders by 2 pm today’, Calls Tribal body leaders arrest Act of aggression

The All Tribal Students’ Union, Manipur has given ultimatum to the state government of Manipur to release its leaders by 2 pm today or face state shutdown.

The ultimatum comes after Manipur state machineries arrested ATAUM, ANSAM and KSO-GHQ leaders at Nungba in Tamenglong district on Wednesday 11:30 pm.

The apex student body has categorically stated that its federating unites will resort to strongest form of agitation and complete shutdown of the state if Manipur government continue to pursue this path, it warmed.

Meanwhile, the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong, Ukhrul district has in the strongest term condemned the arrest of ATSUM, ANSAM and KSO leaders at Nungba, Tamenglong district.

TKS in its press release earlier today affirmed its support to the tribal movement in urging the government of Manipur to table HAC recommend ADC Bill 2021, and appealed for the release of the apex tribal student bodies before the issue escalates out of control.
