Attack on M Pramot Attack on Manipur’s Integrity: Meitei Leepun

Published on

Imphal: Meitei Leepun has termed the attack on their chief M Pramot by unknown assailants as a challenge to the integrity of Manipur and the Meitei community. The group has also issued a warning of unwanted consequences if it is found that individuals hired with black money from illegal poppy cultivation carried out the attack. Pramot, speaking at Meitei Leepun’s office in Meitei Langol on Friday evening, appealed to all relevant parties not to repeat such acts in the future.

Pramot explained that Meitei Leepun volunteers are currently focused on safeguarding paddy fields to ensure a successful harvest, which limits their ability to conduct an immediate investigation. However, he cautioned that Meitei Leepun would initiate a search for the culprits once the harvest season is over.
