B20 delegates from 23 countries visit Manipur’s historical sites

Imphal, Feb 18: The G20/B20 delegates today visited the three historical sites in Manipur including Marjing Polo Complex at Heingang, Loktak Lake and Sangai Ethnic Park in Bishnupur district as a part of a Business 20 (B20) Conference which began on February 17.

The B20 conference was jointly graced by chief minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh, Som Prakash, minister of State, Commerce & Industries, Government of India and Dr R K Ranjan Singh, minister of State, External Affairs, GoI in the presence of senior Manipur and central government officials.

The delegates were warmly received by Manipur chief minister and his cabinet colleagues at Marjing Polo Complex. They were also welcomed by different cultural troupes in their attractive traditional attires at Sangai Ethnic Park.

The delegates witnessed the historical sites and the performance of the cultural dances and songs of the many ethnic groups from the state. The visiting delegates will be in Manipur till Sunday and will visit the historical Kangla Fort and Ima Keithel before they leave Manipur. 

The first of the four B20 sessions that kicked off in Manipur is the first in the Northeast India. B20 is the official G20 dialogue forum for the global business community.
