’Political Murders Were the Ornament of Left Regime, That Era Is Over’: BJP National GS Biplab Deb

AGARTALA: Sounding the death knell for the Communist ecosystem in Tripura, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and newly elevated BJP National General Secretary Biplab Kumar Deb mounted a blistering joint assault in Agartala on Sunday.

The Chief Minister asserted that the BJP juggernaut is moving at “Vande Bharat speed” while the CPI(M) and Congress remain permanently stranded at the station waving goodbye.

The fiery political declarations were made during a massive felicitation gathering at the Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, marking Deb’s maiden return to his home state after being inducted into the party’s central leadership.

Earlier in the day, thousands of party workers greeted the former Chief Minister at the MBB Airport and escorted him across the capital in a vibrant open-top vehicle procession.

Addressing the gathering, Deb credited his political trajectory entirely to the grassroots party cadres and the forty-five lakh citizens of Tripura. Launching a sharp indictment of the previous Left Front regime, he claimed that the state has permanently rid itself of state-sponsored violence.

“Today, there are no political murders in Tripura. Political murder was an organ and an ornament of the Communists,” Deb stated, declaring, “The Communists will never rise again on the soil of Tripura because their political ground has vanished completely.”

Deb also handed down a clear operational diktat to party legislators and office-bearers, stressing grassroots public outreach and personal humility.

“Step out of your routine and visit at least five households every single day. Note down their names, contact numbers, and grievances in a diary,” Deb instructed.

Drawing an analogy of governance, he added, “The more a tree grows and bears fruit, the more it bows down. You must tilt the bucket into the well to draw water.”

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha echoed the aggressive anti-Left stance, praising Deb’s organizational acumen and rating his contribution highly.

“The opposition is sitting in anticipation of our downfall before 2028, looking for a lateral entry, but their public acceptance has hit rock bottom,” Saha remarked.

Underlining his administration’s developmental track record, Dr. Saha said, “Our government functions with a genuine human touch, whether by dedicating sports complexes to local athletes or providing low-cost shelter and canteen facilities for patients’ families near the medical college.”

Later, speaking to reporters on the sidelines regarding the alliance framework with TIPRA Motha, Deb stated that central leaders are in active communication to resolve seat dynamics.

Addressing his ties with TIPRA Motha founder and member of the erstwhile royal family of Tripura Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, Deb remarked, “Personal friendship is separate from party politics. The Communists historically inflicted the maximum atrocities on the family of Pradyot Kishore Manikya, and he will naturally never want them to gain any space in Tripura.”
