KOHIMA, SEP 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Nagaland commemorated the one-year anniversary of Benjamin Yepthomi as the State President on September 25, 2024. The party in a press release stated that Yepthomi has made significant strides in connecting with the grassroots, touring all districts and covering 30 Assembly Constituencies, including the 20 Mandals of Eastern Nagaland. This achievement marks him as the first State BJP President to undertake such an extensive outreach.
On September 12, 2024, during his visit to the 52 A/C Longkhim Chare Assembly Constituency, the party welcomed former RPI candidate Sethrichem Sangtam into its fold. Sangtam, who is also the founder and Managing Director of the Better Life Foundation Nagaland and a recipient of the first Dr. Rohini Nayyar award in 2022, joined the BJP with the support of thousands of his followers.

Additionally, on September 23, 2024, during a visit to the 60 A/C Pungro/Kiphire Assembly Constituency, the party celebrated the official merger of former Deputy Speaker of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Yangseo Sangtam. The event, held in Kiphire Town, saw a large turnout as thousands of supporters rallied behind his decision to join the BJP.
According to the party, the State President has been actively leading the ‘Sadasyata Abhiyan – Membership Drive,’ which began on September 4, 2024, in the 41 A/C Tizit and concluded on September 24, 2024, at the 59 A/C Seyochung/Sitimi. Throughout this initiative, Yepthomi emphasized the importance of strengthening the party’s organizational structure at the grassroots level and urged party workers to drive maximum participation in the ongoing membership campaign.

The party added that during his statewide tour, BJP President Benjamin Yepthomi emphasized the need to strengthen grassroots organizational structures and urged party karyakartas to maximize participation in the ongoing membership drive.
