BJP’s Ginsuanhau who was elected uncontested to the Manipur Legislative Assembly took oath as a member of the state Assembly on Wednesday.

Ginsuanhau was declared elected uncontested from the Singhat assembly constituency of Churachandpur district after his only rival and independent candidate Chinlunthang withdrew his nomination paper.

The by-poll in this constituency was necessitated after he (Ginsuanhau), who was elected on Congress ticket in 2017 assembly election to the state Assembly, resigned from the state Assembly before switching to BJP.

Ginsuanhau took oath as a member of the state Assembly. Speaker Y Khemchand administered the oath to the new member during a simple function held at the office chamber of the Speaker.

After taking oath as MLA, Ginsuanhau assured that he will work with his best efforts for the development of Singhat Assembly constituency.
