Congress Workers Meet held at Lilong: For Democracy and Secularism

A one-day Congress Workers Meet was held today at Leirabakhong in 30-Lilong Assembly Constituency in connection with the forthcoming by-poll for Lilong Assembly Constituency.

The meeting was attended by M. Prithiviraj, Ex-MLA, Md Amin Shah, Ex-MLA, Hareswar Goswami, General Secretary (Admin) MPCC, Md Siraj Ahmad, Samina Begum, office bearers of Lilong Block Congress Committee, office bearers of Minority Department of MPCC and a huge number of Congress workers and sympathizers.

The key speakers in the meeting criticized the ‘One Nation and One Culture’ theory of the BJP government which had severely affected the secularism of the nation. They also asserted that all religions say about how to become a good human being and how an individual can inculcate values which are helpful to society. They appealed to the people of Lilong Assembly Constituency to cast their valuable vote to the Congress Candidate Md. Azizul Haque Khan to save democracy and strengthen secularism.

The Congress candidate Md Azizul Haque Khan, in his speech, promised to serve the people to his best ability and work for the welfare of Lilong Constituency. He emphasized on the importance of being free and fair to all citizens and not being biased to any one community or religion. He requested to the people of Lilong Constituency to cast their valuable vote in his favour in the coming by-election on 7th November 2020.
