Dr. Anthony Kaba’s Book on Manipur Political Agency Launched at Don Bosco College

Ukhrul: A new book titled “The Manipur Political Agency with Special Reference to the Frontier Problem, 1836-1891”, authored by Dr. Anthony Kaba, was released today at the Jose Memorial Multipurpose Auditorium Hall in Maram. The book was launched by Rev. Fr. (Dr.) K.O. Sebastian, Principal of Don Bosco College (Autonomous) Maram.

The book offers an in-depth examination of the establishment and development of the Political Agency in Manipur, shedding light on its key role in managing the region’s frontier challenges and tribal dynamics. Through critical analysis, Dr. Kaba delves into the complexities of dealing with frontier tribes such as the Angami Nagas, Kukis, and Lushais, as well as the intricacies of diplomatic relations with neighbouring Burma.

Dr. Anthony Kaba, currently a senior Associate Professor at Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, has a distinguished academic background. He completed his History honours from St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, and went on to earn a doctoral degree from North Eastern Hill University, receiving his Ph.D. in 2002. Dr. Kaba has been a dedicated faculty member at Don Bosco College since its inception, where he has made significant contributions to the growth and development of the institution.
