BSF Manipur Upgrades 15 Sports Clubs, Hosts Volleyball Matches

UKHRUL: The Border Security Force (BSF), Manipur has upgraded at least 15 local sports clubs and associations located at various locations across the state under a comprehensive Civic Action Programme (CAP) and hosted friendly volleyball matches between local youth teams and BSF personnel, a release stated. 

The initiative was aimed at revitalizing community playfields and training centres, thereby ensuring that aspiring athletes in remote areas have access to quality environments to hone their skills and professional potential, the BSF stated.

Organized with the vision of strengthening the “Force-Civil” relationship, the event underscored the BSF’s enduring commitment to going beyond the call of duty to nurture the talent and well-being of the local population, the BSF stated, adding that the the programme was designed not merely as a distribution drive for sports items, but as a holistic intervention to provide the youth of Manipur with the requisite infrastructure and resources necessary to channelise their energy into sporting pursuits.

It further stated that the force distributed essential sports equipment, including volleyball nets, balls, and performance gear.

The friendly volleyball matches were more than just a game. Enthusiastic participation was witnessed from local community leaders, club representatives and youth, who expressed profound gratitude for the BSF’s proactive outreach, it stated.

“The match served as a vibrant platform for interaction, breaking down barriers and fostering a spirit of mutual trust and friendship between the sentinels of the border and the community they protect,” the BSF stated.

Reaffirming the Force’s ethos, a BSF official stated that the security of the nation is inextricably linked to the prosperity of its people. 

“Through such Civic Action Programmes, BSF Manipur continues to uphold its motto Jeevan Paryant Kartavya – standing firm as a pillar of support for the citizens of Manipur,” it added.
