Chakpikarong Youth Club Funds and Builds Cultural Hall

Chandel, October 24: The Chakpikarong Youth Club on Wednesday inaugurated its office-cum-community hall at Chakpikarong village, which was built with funds raised by its members.

The Chakpikarong Youth Club Office-cum-Cultural Hall was dedicated by Rev. Rt. Changhman and inaugurated by Hb. Hmunkhel, Former President of Chakpikarong Youth Club and Vice Principal of United College, Chandel. Constructed at a cost of Rs. 11 lakh, the cultural hall was built by the youth club with funds raised by them, without any assistance from the government.

“We had some funds with us and thought of making good use of it. So, we decided to raise more funds and build this office-cum-cultural hall,” said Bd. Onahring, President of Chakpikarong Youth Club.

He informed that no government funds were sought or used for constructing the hall. Rather, it was built entirely from the funds raised by the youth club through various means.

Bd. Onahring also said that the hall will serve as a venue for the various needs of the youth club, such as meetings and gatherings. “It was the long dream of the youth club to build such a hall,” he added. “This hall is dedicated to all the former leaders and members of the club in recognition of their invaluable contributions,” Bd. Onahring said.
