C. MUNNOM, SAPORMEINA: Cornerstone English School, C. Munnom, Sapormeina, inaugurated its Annual Sports Meet 2026 at Gamnom Ground on October 27, with students, teachers, distinguished guests and well-wishers coming together to celebrate sportsmanship and teamwork.
The opening ceremony was attended by Jangsat Mate as chief guest, S. Lamminlal Gangte as guest of honour and Henlun Haokip as functional president.
The programme began with the arrival of participants and dignitaries, followed by an invocation and prayer service. The ceremony featured the hoisting of the Sports Meet flag, presentations and addresses by the dignitaries, highlighting the role of sports in fostering discipline, leadership, unity and healthy competition among students.
A march-past by students was one of the highlights of the inaugural ceremony, with participants displaying coordination, confidence and team spirit. Students of Classes III and IV also presented a choreography, adding to the celebrations.
The Annual Sports Meet was formally declared open by Guest of Honour S. Lamminlal Gangte, marking the commencement of sporting activities scheduled to continue until October 31.
The five-day event aims to encourage students’ participation in sports while promoting perseverance, fair play, teamwork and mutual respect.

With its motto, “Inspire, Educate, Transform Lives,” Cornerstone English School said it continues to focus on the all-round development of students, recognising the importance of sports in building character and encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
The school also expressed appreciation to the dignitaries, teachers, students, organising committee and others who contributed to the successful opening ceremony.
