Chandel Naga People’s Org Condemns Abduction of Contractor, Demands Immediate Action

Ukhrul: The Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) strongly condemned the recent abduction of Mr. D. James Lamkang, Special Contractor and his family by the unknown armed persons on October 23 around 10 AM at Tiddim Road.

In a condemnation note, the CNPO stated that Mr D. James Lamkang was taken to Nambol and was forced to sign a cheque for Rs 28 lakhs.

This incident CNPO said was reported to the Officer – In -charge, Singjamei police station on October 24 by the victim, however no response or action has been taken by the concern authorities.

“There is a threat on the victim’s family members, still demanding the amount as stated,” added CNPO.

The Chandel Naga People’s organisation calls on law enforcement to prevent such incidents and ensure justice. It also urges community leaders to promote peace, tolerance, and respect to avoid similar occurrences. The CNPO also says it seeks an explanation from the relevant authorities regarding the abduction of Mr. Lamkang, and demands an immediate end to all threats and extortion.
