Chandel Naga People’s Org Expresses Concern Over Medical Officer Transfers and Alleged Fake Recoveries in Chandel

Published on

Chandel: The Chandel Naga People’s Organisation (CNPO) has voiced serious concerns regarding recent transfer orders of medical officers issued by the Director of Health Services, Manipur.

The CNPO has expressed apprehension over the recent transfer orders stating that these transfers have come at a time when the organization was advocating for additional healthcare facilities, including a blood bank at the district hospital.

The CNPO has urged the Director of Health Services to reconsider these transfer orders and to bolster the district’s medical team by deploying more doctors and nurses. This, they argue, is essential to maintain uninterrupted healthcare services and to address the long-standing needs of the community.

In a separate issue, the CNPO has condemned what it describes as “fake recoveries” of arms and ammunition by Assam Rifles, BSF, and Manipur Police in the Western Valley of Chandel. The organization criticized these actions as “uncivilized” and indicative of a lack of understanding. They have documented two specific incidents, on June 25 and August 21, which they claim involved fabricated recoveries.

The CNPO, calling for immediate attention to these issues to ensure the well-being and security of the people of Chandel has warned that if such activities continue in Naga areas, these forces should be prepared to vacate the region.
