CHANDEL: Khp. Cr. Rajman Moyon was installed as the new chief/chairman of Tungphae (Heigrutampak) village through a customary _Pham_ installation service held on Friday at Tungphae Community Hall.
The oath was administered by Khp. Ch. Francis, president of Bujuur Aanchung Puh (BAP), while Rev. Fr. Benjamin Kodai, Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Parish, led the Blessing Prayer as Blessing Minister. The programme was moderated by Khp. Ng. Govind, Secretary of Tungphae Village Authority (TVA).
Delivering the welcome address, N. Christopher said Tungphae Village was established in 1955 and that Khp. Rajman is the 11th installed chief/chairman of the village. He thanked all dignitaries for attending the ceremony.
After the oath-taking, outgoing chief Khp. Ng. Bengamshing gave a short speech and formally handed over charge to the new chief.
In his first address as chief, Khp. Cr. Rajman Moyon thanked his predecessor and said he would discharge his duties fairly and work for the welfare of the community. “I will take up the role of chieftainship with fairness and lead for the welfare of the community,” he said.
The event featured a Moyon folk song performed by Tungphae Laarchang Shanuw.
Tribe leaders, chiefs, church leaders, and distinguished guests attended the installation.
