Chandel: Tampi Sinnu Ruwl Celebrates Golden Jubilee

CHANDEL: The Tampi Sinnu Ruwl (TSR) on Thursday celebrated 50 years of its glorious existence and achievements with a Golden Jubilee celebration at the village Khuhlu Ground. It was observed under the theme, “Celebrating God’s Gift of Women”.

The celebration began with the unveiling of the Jubilee monolith by Ht. Hringkhel, the first president of TSR and who is over 80 years of age; she also hoisted the Jubilee flag. The monolith was blessed and dedicated by Rev. St. Moses.

The unveiling of the flag was followed by striking/ringing of the traditional gong, three times each, by the chief guest and all former presidents of TSR along with special guests and invitees.

Established in 1976, the TSR tend to celebrate the achievements, the glories and God’s blessings through the jubilee.

While addressing the event, the chief guest, Ht. Hringkhel, expressed her joy and excitement at the glorious 50 years of the TSR. She recalled how it all began five decades ago with faint memories. She thanked God for all those 50 years and called on the women of the village to take society to new heights.

As guest of honour to RL. Pething, former president of TSR, recalled their initiative and struggling days. She said it was important that the current generation understood the history of TSR and took it forward.

Sr. Khingam, president of Anal Sinnu Ruwl (ASR), the apex body of the Anal women associations and organisations, congratulated the TSR for the successful Jubilee celebration. He also highlighted a series of guidelines that were vital for TSR to progress and become a better women organisation.

What is noteworthy of the event was that a large majority of the guests were of the feminine group considering it was a woman organisation’s golden jubilee.

As part of jubilee, all the married women of the village were honoured equally with those women that came in as in-laws or left as in-laws. All the cultural and other activities were also performed by women groups only.

The highlighted events of the day included melodies by Hringpi Jol, Tampi Amkahin, choreography by Micha Jol and Cultural exhibition by Tampi Sinnu Ruwl.
