Chief Minister N Biren Singh condoles death of Sr. Journalist Thotshang Shaiza

The chief minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh Sunday deeply grieved the demise of Ukhrul’s senior journalist, Thotshang Shaiza, Correspondent of The Aja Daily and former president of Ukhrul District Working Journalists’ Association (UDWJA) and also member of Manipur Hill Journalists’ Union (MHJU).

N Biren stated that Shaiza’s demise “in particular the media fraternity, have lost a multi-faceted personality who had dedicated his life in the service of society,” and added “I offer my sincere condolences to the bereaved family and share their grief. May his soul rest in peace.”

Thotshang Shaiza was born on 17th March, 1969 at Viewland Bazaar Ukhrul. Thotshang Shaiza was associated with voluntary responsibilities in many organisations during his short life. He was one of the senior members of Ukhrul District Working Journalists’ Association (UDWJA) and was its President for two consecutive terms (2015 to 2021 April). He was also serving as an Advisor of the association before his demise. Thotshang Shaiza was also the president of Tangkhul Leisak Long, Tangkhul Film Association and members of Ukhrul District Sports Association, besides being the Deacon of Phungyo Baptist Church, the condolence message from chief minister stated.

Condolence messages habe been pouring in from all walks of life including All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union, Manipur Hill Journalists’ Union, Editors’ Guild Manipur, Ukhrul District Working Journalists’ Association, The Aja Daily, Ukhrul District Sports Association, Tangkhul Naga Film Association, Tangkhul Leisak Long, Works minister Th Biswajit Singh, ADC Caretaker Chairman, Dr Yaronsho Ngalung, Hunphun Ukhrul Village Authority at the demise of the veteran journalist who left behind three daughters and two sons.
