Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi Meets Manipur Governor, Discusses Operation Sindoor and Durand Cup

Imphal, July 30: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, met with the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at Raj Bhavan in Imphal on Tuesday. He was accompanied by the Army Commander of the Eastern Command, the General Officer Commanding 3 Corps, and other senior Army officials.

Governor Bhalla extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Army leadership on the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, commending the Indian Army’s professionalism, dedication, and relentless efforts in safeguarding the region’s security and stability.

The two leaders also discussed the commencement of the 134th Durand Cup, one of Asia’s oldest and most prestigious football tournaments, which is set to begin later today. General Dwivedi expressed his appreciation to the Governor and the Government of Manipur for their continued support and facilitation in organising the major sporting event.
