Churachandpur: 10 Acres of Illicit Poppy Cultivation Destroyed

CHURACHANDPUR: A combined team of District Police personnel, CRPF, Forest Department Churachandpur, Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), Churachandpur and personnel from 1st IRB on Friday destroyed approximately 10 acres of illicit poppy cultivation in K Bungsang under Samulamlan subdivision in Churachandpur district, Manipur. 

The joint administrative and law enforcement drive was conducted to eradicate illicit poppy cultivation in the area. The destroyed crop had an estimated potential yield of 50 kilograms of opium. 

Necessary legal action taken up in this regard, police said.
