CM Khemchand Visits Sainik School Imphal

UKHRUL: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Sunday visited Sainik School Imphal. The chief minister was received by Khurai Constituency MLA L Susindro Meitei, principal Col A Rajiv and senior officials of the institution.

The principal briefed the CM on the functioning of the school and highlighted key grievances and challenges currently being faced, including deteriorated infrastructures, water supply, the need for perimeter wall strengthening, pending construction of the girls’ hostel and issues in sound clarity in the Vikram Batra auditorium, among others.

He also outlined the school’s recent achievements and academic activities, including notable performances in competitive examinations and participation of cadets in various national-level events.

Stating that students are the pillars of society and must be given due importance, the chief minister assured that the concerns raised would be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. 

CM Khemchand appreciated the efforts of the school administration in maintaining standards despite constraints and acknowledged the institution’s contribution in shaping disciplined and capable youths.

During the visit, the chief minister inspected different parts of the campus to assess infrastructure requirements and identify areas needing construction, renovation, and repair. 

The chief minister interacted with representatives of the Alumni Association, staff members, students, and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence in both academics and extracurricular activities. He also interacted with Memota Keisham, a girl student who had earlier participated in an interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the 9th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha and commended her confidence and achievements. She was among the only 15 students selected from nearly four crore participants nationwide.

Commissioner (Education), Government of Manipur, Ningthoujam Geoffrey; Squadron Leader Administrative Officer, Sachin Kumar; Senior Master SSI, A Rommel Singh along with other senior officials, were present during the visit.
