When the BJP released the list of its 60 candidates for the ensuing polls in the 60-seat Manipur Legislative Assembly, three of its sitting legislators and many leaders associated with the party for a long time were denied the party tickets. Not happy over ticket denial to the candidates of their choice, a good number of workers left the party after setting fire the party flags and banners as a mark of protest against the decision of the BJP leadership.
