CM N Biren visited Tamenglong to review COVID-19 situation: Encourages people to vaccinate

A review meeting on Covid-19 was held Monday with CM, N. Biren Singh at Tamenglong. It was held as a part of Chief Minister’s visit to 3 hill District – Ukhrul, Senapati and Tamenglong to oversee the condition of pandemic in the districts.

During the meeting held at Tamenglong DC Bungalow, various activities taken up against Covid-19 pandemic were highlighted by DC Tamenglong, Armstrong Pame IAS and CMO I/c Tamenglong, Dr Gracy Majachunglu. Grievances and hardships faced by the district including shortage of health staff and Medical equipments were also shared.

In his speech, CM, N Biren cautioned to take pandemic with utmost seriousness as many people have been fallen prey to the pandemic each day. However, he urged the people not to panic saying it’s curable if testing and proper treatment were taken on time. In order to save from this pandemic he also encourage people to take the vaccine at the earliest.

As help a to fight the on going pandemic, Chief Minister handed over 10 oxygen concentrators to Tamenglong, and he also assured to provide vehicle for CMO Tamenglong. CM also visited current CMO office, and approved to set up new CMO office building. He also mentioned, Oxygen plant which can refill 100 oxygen cylinder per day will be constructed in Tamenglong at the earliest.

During the program Joint Four Tribes Council which consist of Zeme Naga Council, Rongmei Naga Council, Liangmai Naga Council and Inpui Naga Union expressed their sincere gratitude to the Chief Minister and also to the District Administration. An interactive session was held with the Chief Minister regarding various issues happening in the district.

Forest Environment and Climate Change Minister Awangbow Newmai, Hill Areas Committee Chairman K. Leishiyo, Advisor to CM (Health) Dr. S. Ranjan and Principal Secretary (Health) V. Vumlungmang, SP Tamenglong, SDPO Tamenglong, SDOs, DLOs and other CSO Leaders also attended the review meeting.
