Imphal: The Organising Committee of the public assembly for the restoration of peace in Manipur has made several appeals and demands regarding the BJP. The Committee has opined that there is no need to extend support to the political party of Prime Minister Narendra, who has failed to spare even just 5 minutes to meet with people and legislators from Manipur who are camping in the national capital to raise their concerns over the prevailing Manipur crisis which has persisted for nearly five months.

The committee has demanded all the primary members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Manipur to resign from their membership and allied political parties of the BJP to withdraw their support. The committee has also demanded the resignation of BJP district office bearers, dissolution of BJP mandals and resignation of co-operators and nagar panchayat members who were elected on BJP tickets.

Briefing the media at Thawai Mirel’s office in Imphal today, Committee Spokesperson Khubongmayum Indrajit urged members of those political parties which failed to withdraw their support for the BJP to resign from their respective parties. He also appealed to the public to remove photos of BJP National leaders from roadsides and public places in Manipur and to boycott the Swas-e-Seva campaign of the BJP-led central government.
