Conrad Sangma arrives in Imphal, 2 vehicles of NPP Keishamthong AC MLA vandalized

Imphal: The National President of National People’s Party (NPP) and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma arrived in Imphal on a three-day visit in poll-bound Manipur State.


The NPP National President will launch election campaign of the party for the upcoming poll in 2022 at Kshetrigao Assembly constituency, Imphal East district as well as attend series of election campaigns for the party in different assembly constituencies of the state as part of his campaign in the state.

A statement from NPP party today stated that his permissions in regards to his conducting campaigns in Manipur was obtained from concern DM. However, as per the statement, NPP alleged that BJYM president Barish Sharma, R K Maxn and the youths of BJYM came and attempted assault to the youths of National People’s Youth Front, Manipur in flag fixing at No Man’s Land situated at Keisampat Tiddim Road.

The statement issued by N Kayisii, president NPP Manipur also alleged that Barish Sharma along with R K Maxn assaulted the three escorts of Keishamthong AC MLA, vandaizing two vehicles. The driver escaped the incident as per the statement.

Meanwhile, en-route to Imphal, Conrad Sangma took to Facebook and said, “I am happy to take my first flight from Shillong to Imphal. The new route was started recently and is proving to be quite a convenience to travellers. Flight is operating in almost full capacity today”.
