COVID-19 cases in Manipur cross 10,000 mark

Manipur’s COVID-19 tally rose to 10,051 as 260 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, according to an official data of the state Health department.

The COVID-19 related death also rose to 64 with the death of a 57-year-old woman from Imphal East district on Saturday at RIMS hospital.

Of the 10,051 total infections, only 2306 are active cases as the recovered cases rose to 7681 after 79 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours. 

The recovery rate of the state stands at 76.42%, the state Health department said in a press release.

Of the 260 fresh cases, 20 are from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF). With these new cases, the total number of positive cases among the CAPF rose to 2141, and among them, 410 personnel are active cases.

Of the 240 new cases detected among the general populace, 232 are locals contracted by the virus without any significant travel history and the rest eight are returnees from other states.
