COVID-19 fatality in Manipur 44 as four more die

Death toll due to COVID-19 in Manipur rose to 44 as four persons including a Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) personnel and a woman succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, official sources said on Thursday.

A report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room said that four persons including a 42-year-old CAPF personnel died due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours (till 5 pm of September 10). 

The CAPF personnel died at Churachandpur district hospital while of the three others—two died at JNIMS hospital and the rest at RIMS hospital.

Meanwhile, detection of 108 fresh cases during the last 24 hours took the total COVID-19 cases in the state to 7,470. Among them, only 1633 are active cases as 5793 have recovered from the disease.

Twenty-six of the 108 fresh cases are CAPF personnel and of the rest 82 are from the general population, while 74 of them have no significant travel history.
The recovery rate of the state stands at 77.55%, the report further said.
