COVID-19 fatality tally at 138 as Six die in 24 hours in Manipur

Six died in a span of 24 hours to push Manipur’s COVID-19 casualty tally to 138. The number of COVID-19 cases also reached 17,022 with the detection of 245 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, official reports showed on Saturday.

Manipur government’s COVID-19 Common Control Room, in a press release, reported that six persons died of COVID-19 related illnesses in the last 24 hours (from 4 pm of October 23 till 4 pm of October 24). The deceased aged between 46 to 82. Three were females among the deceased.

A total of 245 fresh infections including 12 Central security force personnel were confirmed during testing of 2,277 samples during the past 24 hours, the report said.

All the 233 fresh cases detected among the general population were locally contracted cases as they have no significant travel history as per the report.

A total of 157 COVID-19 patients were discharged today. Among them, are eight CAPF personnel. Now, the total number of recovery in the state stands at 12,719.

As the state’s infection tally is 17,022 including 2,706 CAPF personnel, currently 4,165 active cases are at different Covid care facilities across the state, the report added.
