KANGPOKPI, July 14: Around 250 villagers from T. Waichong and nearby areas in Kangpokpi district received free medical consultation and medicines during a day-long medical camp jointly organised by the 112 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Kangpokpi District Health Society under the National Health Mission (NHM) on July 13.

The camp was held at T. Waichong village along the IT Road with the participation of six doctors, including specialists from Kangpokpi District Hospital, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS). Medical officers from the 112 Battalion CRPF, Dr. Umashankar Verma (CMO-SG) and Dr. Durgesh Dhote (Assistant Commandant/Medical Officer), also took part in the initiative, along with nursing and paramedical staff.

According to the organisers, the camp was aimed at improving access to healthcare for underprivileged residents of remote villages who face difficulties in accessing medical facilities because of geographical isolation and limited infrastructure.

The medical team provided health check-ups, consultations and essential medicines free of cost to beneficiaries.

Chief Medical Officer of Kangpokpi, Dr. Paokai Kipgen, Medical Superintendent of Kangpokpi District Hospital, Dr. Pilhing Misao, and Medical Officer in-charge of Waichong Primary Health Centre, Dr. Jangkhogin Kipgen, were among the doctors who participated in the camp.

Villagers expressed appreciation to the organisers for conducting the medical outreach programme and bringing healthcare services to their doorstep.
